The Fire Horse sculpture on Dixon Street is designed as a luminous urban landmark during the Lunar New Year period. Composed of layered panels and vibrant neon outlines, the horse appears almost weightless as it rises from stylised clouds — a visual reference to movement, energy and prosperity in the zodiac.
At night, the illuminated lines create a fiery halo around the form, echoing the symbolism of the Fire Horse: strength, vitality and bold momentum. Set within the streetscape of Sydney Chinatown, the sculpture works not only as an artwork but as a temporary piece of public architecture, shaping the atmosphere of the precinct and drawing people together to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
